Skipton 3 Peaks Registration Form 2025

Entry to the Walk:

-Participants must sign the registration form to say that they have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions in order to register and take part in the Skipton 3 Peaks (S3Ps).

-Participants must complete the registration form accurately and in its entirety.

-Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them throughout the S3Ps.

Suitability to take part:

The route is a well-trodden path throughout, although be prepared for some rough, uneven and potentially muddy terrain. Areas of the route will contain steep climbs. You may experience adverse weather conditions during the event.

-Participants are responsible to ensure their suitability to take part in the S3Ps.

-By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, participants agree that they are physically fit to complete the S3Ps.

-Should any medical or physical condition arise prior to the S3Ps that is likely to affect the participant’s ability to compete in the S3Ps, it is the participant’s responsibility to withdraw. Under these circumstances, your entry fee will be non-refundable.

-Participants must notify Dementia Forward of any medical condition that would affect their treatment in the event of an incident during the event.

-Participants must ensure that they have the appropriate equipment, footwear and clothing for the S3Ps. Supportive walking shoes are advised.

-There are limited food and water provisions along the route. It is the participants’ responsibility to ensure they have sufficient food and water to last the duration of the S3Ps. There will be two rest stops on route providing water. These will be outlined in the information pack received on the day.

Walk:

-Participants must sign in at the Skipton Community Sports Hub before beginning the walk.

-Participants will be provided with a lanyard which contains their name, emergency contact details and any medical information. This should remain on your person at all times until you sign out at the Skipton Sports Community Hub at the end of the day.

-It is estimated that the walk will take 6-8 hours. If you do not plan on finishing the walk by 5pm, please notify Dementia Forward.

-All participants must sign out upon returning to the Skipton Community Sports Hub at the end of the route. If we do not hear from you, this will trigger our Emergency protocol. It is vital that you let us know when you finish the walk.

Registration Fee:

-Participants must pay a registration fee which is non-refundable.

Cancellation:

-Dementia Forward, has the right to cancel the S3Ps should it be deemed necessary.

-In the event of severe weather conditions, Dementia Forward reserves the right to cancel the S3Ps

-If the S3Ps is cancelled due to the choice of Dementia Forward, an alternative date will be provided or a refund will be issued.

First Aid:

-Dementia Forward will provide suitable First Aid assistance for the duration of the S3Ps.

-On the day of the S3Ps, you will be provided with an information pack containing details about the First Aid provision.

-First Aid trained walkers will be at the front and the back of the group, and their contact details will be provided.

-Dementia Forward staff will be stationed at the Skipton Community Sports Hub, should you wish to seek their attention.

-Dementia Forward advises that participants download the app ‘what3words’ so that in the case of an emergency, an exact location can be shared.

-Participants authorise Dementia Forward to pass on any medical details to the First Aiders present on the day. Medical conditions will also be noted on your lanyards.

-In case of an emergency where you are in immediate danger, call 999 and ask for ‘Police’ then ‘Mountain Rescue’. Where possible, inform Dementia Forward of the situation.

Limitation of Liability:

-Dementia Forward shall not be liable for any injury or loss occurring as a result of participation in the S3Ps.

-Participants take part in the S3Ps at their own risk.
