Sign up for our 15-mile sponsored walk starting and finishing at the world famous Tan Hill Inn to raise funds for people living with dementia in your local community. \nYour £20 entry includes a Breakfast Sandwich\, T-Shirt\, Goody Bag and Certificate. \nThis event is very kindly sponsored by Harris Irwin Architects. \nWe ask participants to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship. Your support is greatly appreciated. \n  \nBookings for this event are now closed. \n  \nTAN HILL CHALLENGE WALK FAQs \n  \n \n  \nTan Hill Inn Challenge Walk – Terms and Conditions \nThank you for signing up to Dementia Forward’s Tan Hill Inn Challenge Walk. \nThis sponsored walk is a 15-mile circular route. \nWe have taken the appropriate steps to ensure your safety throughout the day. Please read the Terms and Conditions below. \n  \nEntry to the Walk: \n\nParticipants must sign the registration form to say that they have read\, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions in order to register and take part in the Tan Hill Inn Challenge Sponsored Walk.\nParticipants must complete the registration form accurately and in its entirety.\nParticipants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them throughout the Walk.\n\nSuitability to take part: \n\nParticipants are responsible to ensure their suitability to take part in the Walk.\nBy agreeing to the Terms and Conditions\, participants agree that they are physically fit to complete the Walk.\nShould any medical or physical condition arise prior to the Walk that is likely to affect the participant’s ability to compete in the event\, it is the participant’s responsibility to withdraw. Under these circumstances\, your entry fee will be non-refundable.\nParticipants must notify Dementia Forward of any medical condition that would affect their treatment in the event of an incident during the event.\nParticipants must ensure that they have the appropriate equipment\, footwear and clothing for the Walk. Supportive walking shoes are advised.\n\n\nThere are limited food and water provisions along the route. It is the participants’ responsibility to ensure they have sufficient food and water to last the duration of the Walk. There will be rest stops on route providing water. These will be outlined in the information pack received on the day.\n\nWalk: \n\nParticipants must sign in at the Tan Hill Inn before beginning the walk.\nParticipants will be provided with a lanyard which contains their name\, emergency contact details and any medical information. This should remain on your person at all times until you sign out at Tan Hill Inn at the end of the day.\nIt is estimated that the walk will take 5-7 hours. If you do not plan on finishing the walk by 5pm\, please notify Dementia Forward.\nAll participants must sign out upon returning to Tan Hill Inn at the end of the route. If we do not hear from you\, this will trigger our Emergency protocol. It is vital that you let us know when you finish the walk.\n\nRegistration Fee: \n\nParticipants must pay a registration fee which is non-refundable.\n\nCancellation: \n\nDementia Forward\, has the right to cancel the Walk should it be deemed necessary.\nIn the event of severe weather conditions\, Dementia Forward reserves the right to cancel the Walk\nIf the Walk is cancelled due to the choice of Dementia Forward\, an alternative date will be provided or a refund will be issued.\n\nFirst Aid: \n\nDementia Forward will provide suitable First Aid assistance for the duration of the Walk.\nOn the day of the Walk\, you will be provided with an information pack containing details about the First Aid provision. First Aid trained walkers will be at the front and the back of the group\, and their contact details will be provided.\nDementia Forward staff will be stationed at Tan Hill Inn\, should you wish to seek their attention.\nDementia Forward advises that participants download the app ‘what3words’ so that in the case of an emergency\, an exact location can be shared.\nParticipants authorise Dementia Forward to pass on any medical details to the First Aiders present on the day. Medical conditions will also be noted on your lanyards.\nIn case of an emergency where you are in immediate danger\, call 999 and ask for ‘Police’ then ‘Mountain Rescue’. Where possible\, inform Dementia Forward of the situation.\n\nLimitation of Liability: \n\nDementia Forward shall not be liable for any injury or loss occurring as a result of participation in the Walk.\nParticipants take part in the Walk at their own risk.\n\n  \nWe look forward to welcoming you to Tan Hill Inn on the 26th of July. \nWe hope that you enjoy your day!
